Mazda to unveil its first electric car next month

In a month's time, the Tokyo Motor Show, the last of the five major events of 2019, will host a series of new products. Naturally, the Japanese automaker Mazda will be present with an electric model, as confirmed by Automotive News and a Mazda spokesman. This will be the first 100% electric vehicle offered by the company.

The manufacturer had tested an electrical architecture under the hood of the CX-30 compact crossover, but the model presented in Tokyo will be completely new.
The prototype has a 35.5 kWh battery and generates 105 kW of power. The 100% electric Mazda will be on the market in 2020, in line with the manufacturer's electrification strategy for the range. Two versions will be available: a fully electric model for Japan, Europe, China and a model with an extended range (thanks to a small rotating motor) for markets such as North America. This electric Mazda will be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show (October 24 to November 4).
